Holiday Season

We had a great Holiday Season this year. I got to celebrate my first Thanksgiving and Christmas in my new, very own house. My dad came down one weekend to help me fill a flower bed with dirt. Quite a dusty dirty mess.

We played hostesses for our first Holiday Party, great food, homemade eggnog, cran-tinis, and peppermint patties. Now that we are well versed in hosting cocktail parties, look for an even more extravagant party next year.

October

October was a great month. Maya and I flew to New Orleans to be a part of our brother's wedding to a fantastic woman. Rory is amazing, she is such a perfect match for Dasan, and turns our dynamic duo into the terrific trio! She is so much fun to be around. Here are some of my favorite pics from the wedding and The Big Easy.

September

Well all the excitement about the 30 dates in 30 days didn't amount to much. I went on maybe three dates..none of which were memorable. So a quick update of the last four months. September was not memorable, Maya and I hiked Camelback mountain, rode bicycles, and continued preparations for our brothers upcoming wedding.

Party Animals (or Maya's 23rd)

This Friday we celebrated my 23rd birthday. I was lucky enough to have my best friend Ave come from the White Mountains and our mutual friend Kristin come from Tucson to help us celebrate. The week had been crazy with my move to Phoenix and helping my mom clean out the Tucson house as well as getting my room set up here at Jasmine's house, and despite a blowout on I-10 everything turned out well. We made some very fruitful trips to SAS in both Tucson and Phoenix to get pounds of faux fur and had everything ready to begin preparations for the festivities. I chose the theme "Party Animals" and the plan was for each of us to be dressed up as an animal of our choice. Friday Jasmine went to work and I started working on our costumes. Despite me ragging on her "Brotha" sewing machine it held up well enough to produce 2 pairs of catpants, a bambi bottom, a beaver butt and a piglet posterior. I was thrilled to have Heather, Gerard and Gosia join our herd for the nights activities. (Heather wore the original catpants from '05). We started at a bar called Coachhouse where we were an instant hit. Everyone wanted to know the reason for the costumes, as well as chime in with their own animal puns....some of which were rather disturbing. This was probably the most fun I've ever had celebrating a birthday and everybody wound up safe and sound at home with tails, teeth and claws intact :)

Welcome

The time has finally come for Maya and I to document our crazy adventures. We have both had many laughable and unfortunate happenings that are worthy of sharing. We hope you enjoy these anecdotes as much as we've enjoyed the experiences.
